Loaded with juicy, crisp peaches and a warm filling, this homemade peach cobbler will throw you off your feet and will become your new favorite treat for any occasion.

My Nana first made this peach cobbler 90 years ago, and it has been in our family since. Want to know the family secret?

By following these step-by-step instructions, you’ll be able to see for yourself why my Nana’s delicious peach cobbler is so popular, and you, too, will be able to share with your friends and family the tastiest peach cobbler in east Texas.

What You'll Need...

  • 9x10 glass casserole dish

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 stick Oleo

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 2 tablespoons baking powder

  • 2 cans peaches

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Place 1 stick of butter in a 9x13 glass casserole dish. Then, put the dish into the oven to melt the butter.

  3. In a large bowl, combine and mix together 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, ¾ cup milk and 2 tablespoons baking powder.

  4. Remove casserole dish from oven. Pour the mixture into casserole dish.

  5. Pour 2 cans of peaches into a separate bowl. Do not pour the juice into the bowl.

  6. Slowly, place the peaches one at a time onto the mixture. (This will make the peaches more evenly disbursed, resulting in a delicious peach cobbler!)

  7.  Pour the juice from 1 can of peaches onto the casserole dish. (Do not pour 2 cans of peach juice into the dish because this can result in the cobbler being soggy and less crisp.)

  8. Sprinkle with sugar, if desired.

  9. Bake about approximately 35 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown.

Now that the cobbler is done, you can serve it warm or topped with 1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. So yummy!

Like mine, your family will beg you to make both of these dishes for every holiday.
